I hold a PhD in Management Accounting from HEC Montréal, a Master’s degree in Management Control from the Université Paris Dauphine-PSL (France), and a Master of Science from Institut Mines-Télécom Business School (France).
My research interests are diversified and revolve around the umbrella concept of accountability. My publications and current work focus on management control systems, cognition, micro-level institutions, violence, and corruption (counter-accounts, media framing). I predominantly use qualitative methods (interview, shadowing, field observation, document analysis...) and love exploring and interacting with the research fields.
I am also a passionate teacher and mentor motivated by the transformation of our students into knowledgeable, responsible, and thriving professionals. Our students’ learning and growth are at the heart of my teaching practice. To help them succeed academically and professionally, my teaching style combines caring deeply for their well-being, walking the classroom, mentoring beyond courses, and co-creating learning opportunities with/for them, using experiential and active learning, the flipped classroom, peer learning, the case method, gamification, and other pedagogical strategies. I am team-oriented and value constructive feedback from my peers and students to improve my teaching and courses.
My contributions to the Laurier community typically entail judging case competitions (e.g., ICE twice a year), developing program/curriculum/course material, coordinating courses, training and mentoring new instructors, and serving on various committees (e.g., PTAC).
Currently, I am on a one-year Sabbatical Leave at the John Molson School of Business (Concordia University) working on exciting research projects and expanding my teaching practice.
My current research projects focus on:
