Dr. Eve Lamargot holds a PhD in Management Accounting from HEC Montréal, a Master’s degree in Management Control from the Université Paris-Dauphine (France), and a Master of Science from Institut Mines-Télécom Business School (France).
Her research interests are diversified and revolve around the umbrella concept of accountability. Her publications and current work focus on management accounting and control systems (performance management, decision-making), cognition, institutions, and corruption (counter accounts, media framing). She predominantly uses qualitative methods (interview, shadowing, field observation, document analysis), and loves exploring and interacting with the research fields.
Dr. Lamargot is also a passionate teacher and mentor motivated by the transformation of her students into knowledgeable, responsible, and thriving professionals. She strives to place her students’ learning and growth at the heart of her teaching activities to help them achieve success in their academic and professional paths. Her teaching style combines caring deeply for her students' well-being, mentoring by walking the classroom, and co-creating learning opportunities using approaches such as the flipped classroom, peer learning, the case method, and gamification.
Currently, Dr. Lamargot is on a one-year Sabbatical Leave and working on exciting research projects and activities.
Dr. Lamargot's current research projects focus on (1) the relationship between conceptions of performance and performance management, (2) counter accounts in a corruption case, (3) microdynamics of institutions, and (4) gamifying accounting education.
