PhD in Management, Accounting
I chose to pursue my PhD at Lazaridis School of Business and Economics as it is a highly ranked institution, and I had the pleasure of experiencing firsthand during my undergrad the Laurier community, inclusivity, and excellence. I was eager to pursue my PhD at the very institution that helped me reach my first career goal of becoming a Chartered Professional Accountant. From the curriculum to the faculty to the students, Laurier is a world class institution and feels like a second home to most. My supervisors and other faculty members ensure I am always supported, and the intimate program allows me to work closely with my peers.
My research lies at the intersection of behavioural management accounting and organizational decision-making. I am particularly interested in the role of subjectivity in performance evaluations and promotion assessments, as well as the factors that influence helping behaviour and knowledge sharing within firms. My work explores how managers interpret and act on performance information, and how these decisions shape employee development and organizational outcomes.
I aim to secure a tenure-track faculty position at a university, where I can contribute impactful research to the field of accounting and engage in meaningful teaching and mentorship. My goal is to advance knowledge in accounting while supporting and inspiring the next generation of business professionals. Through my research, I hope to inform the practices of managers and policy setters.
