Computer Science (Post-Baccalaureate Certificate)

This post-baccalaureate certificate in Computer Science equips you with the necessary skills to find your dream IT job. It also helps you meet the requirements to apply to the Master of Applied Computing (MAC) at Laurier. This 3.0 credit post-baccalaureate program is fully online, designed to be completed in just sixteen months of part-time studies. This program's requirements must be fulfilled within three years from the date of entry.

Certificate Requirements

You are eligible for this certificate if:

  • You are a recent graduate who has a degree but not in Computer Science, and is interested in working in the IT industry; or
  • You're interested in applying for the Master of Applied Computing (MAC) at Laurier and lack the prerequisite courses.

  • Term one: CP104: Introduction to Programming
  • Term two: CP164: Data Structures I
  • Term three: CP213: Intro to Object-Oriented Programming and CP214: Discrete Structures for Computer Science
  • Term four: CP264: Data Structures II and CP312: Algorithm Design and Analysis I

Delivered Online

Learn from wherever you are connected to the internet. Our online programs give you the flexibility to study from home – either by joining live virtual classes at set times (virtual synchronous) or working through course material on your own schedule (virtual asynchronous). It’s a great option if you’re looking for more independence or need to balance school with other life commitments.

While the program is delivered online, some courses may require in-person exams, either on campus or at an approved testing location near your home.
