Case study research with partnering organizations will address five research strands and associate research questions. These include:

  1. Students and Families: What are the experiences of disabled students and their families and caregivers regarding inclusion and exclusion in geographically diverse schools and communities? What approaches and elements are most effective in including disabled students in diverse geographic contexts, and how can they be adapted across regions?
  2. Teachers and Other Educators: What professional learning interventions can support teachers’ and other educators’ efficacy to support IE?
  3. School Leaders: How can networked learning communities foster school leaders’ positive attitudes and enabling leadership practices toward IE? How can a cross-cultural scale on inclusive leadership be developed and validated to measure school leaders’ attitudes toward IE?
  4. School Systems: What are the system level IE policies in various jurisdictions and how do the historical and cultural context influence their implementation? What innovative systems-level collaborative structures and investments support and enable IE in diverse contexts?
  5. Partnership Connections & Sustainability:  How does collaboration between researchers and stakeholders from government agencies and disability rights organizations from different countries support and  mobilize research in IE? How do international partnerships serve as effective catalysts for innovative practices in low-resource contexts to foster IE?
