Pathways to Applied Health Science (BASc) at Laurier

The Mohawk’s Pre-Health Articulation Agreements aims to grant admission to those students who graduate from the Pre-Health Certificate program at each college into Laurier’s Bachelor of Arts and Science (BASc) in Applied Health Science at our Brantford campus. Throughout your Applied Health Sciences degree, you will take courses in topics such as cell biology, fundamentals of chemistry, health policy and biostatistics.

Once you have accepted your offer, please consult Academic Advising and our Course Registration Guide to determine the specific courses you'll need to take during your time at Laurier.

Pre-Health Certification (Mohawk College)

Students who have successfully completed a Mohawk College Pre-Health Certification may be eligible for admission into the Applied Health Sciences (BASc) program at Laurier's Brantford campus via this articulation agreement.

  • Required final overall average from this program: 75%+
  • Other admission requirements: 60%+ in a 4U English (or equivalent), proof of graduation, and 75% in the following math courses:
    • MATH10008: Pre-Health Math 1 and MATH10009: Pre-Health Math 2 at Mohawk College
  • Number or transfer credits granted: 2.5
  • Number of Laurier credits required to graduate: 17.5

Anticipated Transfer Credits

Below comprises of a list of transfer credits you will receive in your offer letter if you are admitted into this specific pathway:

  • HS 101: Physical Determinants of Health
  • SOJE 222: Digital and Social Media: Critical Approaches
  • HS 203: Disease and Society
  • 1.0 credit: Interdisciplinary (100 level)

If you are interested in transferring into this program with an academic history different than what is outlined above, apply using the undergraduate application form and your transfer credits will be assessed on an individual basis and reported to you, along with your offer letter, upon admission to Laurier.
